Big Plans For ElliTheTutor!

A sneak peak of a YouTube video outro!

ElliTheTutor has been a tutoring business for 8 years now, beginning in 2016 with one student in 6th grade math. Year 2020 created a huge demand for tutors due to the difficulty of online schooling for many students. Because school wasn't face-to-face for quite some time, the idea to tutor through Zoom kickstarted ElliTheTutor becoming an online business. Throughout the years, we've helped over 50 students, in person and virtually. This year so far, I've had 18 sessions with students new and old, and I'm always looking to lend a helping hand!

ElliTheTutor has got huge plans on the horizon. Take a look at my goals for the company for 2025:

  1. Continue to tutor students one-on-one for the rest of the year and forever.

    • This is so important to me because my love for helping students reach that "Ah-Ha" moment is why I started ElliTheTutor.

    • My students are what keep me going. Getting to hear about their days and what they had for lunch or how their weekend was contributes so much to the student-tutor relationship, and this couldn't happen without one-on-one tutoring.

  2. Gain 2 new reoccurring students

    • It's important to keep new students rolling into the roster!

    • It's the nature of the business to have kids age out of tutoring eventually. It's bittersweet saying goodbye to my students, but my end goal is to make them smarter than me. So it's a very proud "goodbye".

  3. Create at least 25 unique digital products from scratch (There's 3 done so far! You can check them out Here.)

    • This includes worksheets, study guides, formula sheets, review packets, and possibly summer-prep packets.

    • Digital products for Algebra and up are surprisingly scarce. There's many resources available for elementary students, but when it comes to higher level math, there is a need for easily accessible practice problems. I intend to work to solve this need.

    • Every digital product will come with handwritten solutions. This is something not commonly seen on other worksheets. Some will give you just the answers, but my clients having a full understanding of how a problem is solved is so important to me.

  4. Build out ellithetutor.org to encompass all digital products I create.

    • There will be a "Shop" section where every product is available.

    • The benefit of having a shop right here on ellithetutor.org rather than a third party website is that products will deliver immediately after payment is received, which means if you need extra practice tonight before the big test tomorrow, you could have it in minutes.

  5. Start an ElliTheTutor YouTube channel.

    • When you search up a word problem on the internet you're usually faced with big companies with subscription services to be able to view their solutions to your math problem. What if, when you searched a problem, a YouTube video appears with the exact explanation you needed?

    • This is a bit of a new realm for me, but a wise man once said, "If you don't get outside of your comfort zone, how will you grow?"

  6. Make ellithetutor.org a database for word-problem explanations, free of charge.

    • Let's say a student is in a library and unable to listen to a video explanation of a word problem. Ellithetutor.org will be a database for every YouTube video's solved problems, if you're on the go and need a quick solution.

These are big goals to achieve, but anything can be done if you have the right "why". Tutoring is my passion. My students light my fire. Thank you to you all for supporting my little business. Here's to the Best. Year. Ever.

Much Love,
